Trailer? Not a term used outside a comedy club any more! They're refered to as manufactured homes now. Because of the fact that almost 20 million people live in them. They are becoming the housing choice for those people who wish to still achieve the American Dream but are on a limited budget.
Through out their history, manufactured homes have usually been financed as personal property. This results in personal loans, which often require a large down payment. That leaves the remainder of the value financed over 10 to 15 years. Loan rates are typically higher than mortgage rates. However, no matter what the loan is called, a mortgage or not, if the loan is used for your principal residence, the interest you pay is tax-deductible. (consult your tax prepairer, because rules change locally).
These loans still are common, however the changes in the industry have attracted new lenders and new types of loans. Many of the manufactured home loans require less money down and longer re-payment schedules, some up to 20 or even 30 years.

4 Corners to Fort Carson

Not much news and no new photos yet from our travelers. Last heard they were in Durango, CO. and headed to the 4 Corners Area. They expect to be in the Fort Carson area July 3rd - 4th.

Friday June 26th Keela and her support team are leaving Williams and heading for Flagstaff.
